FoodAustralia is an Australian food export directory. You can search and browse the directory without creating an account. We do not sell personal information and the current FoodAustralia app does not contain third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
1. Who we are
The FoodAustralia website and mobile application (together, the “Service”) are operated by FoodAustralia Export Services Pty Ltd (“FoodAustralia”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Service.
2. Information handled when you use the Service
The Service does not require a user account. The current app does not ask users to provide their name, personal email address, payment information or precise location.
When you use FoodAustralia:
- search words, category choices and state selections are sent to our server so that we can return the directory results you request;
- our hosting and network providers may automatically process limited technical information, such as an IP address, device or browser type, request date and time, requested page and diagnostic information; and
- this technical information may be used to deliver the Service, maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and improve reliability.
3. Permissions and sensitive device information
The current FoodAustralia app does not request access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, text messages or precise device location. It does not collect health, financial or payment information from app users.
4. Business directory information
FoodAustralia displays business information about Australian food companies and exporters. This may include company names, business descriptions, locations, websites and publicly available business contact details. Directory information may come from public sources, participating businesses or authorised research and verification.
A business or authorised representative may contact us to request a correction, update or review of its directory information.
5. How information is used
Information handled through the Service is used to:
- provide searches, categories, company profiles and directory results;
- operate, secure and troubleshoot the Service;
- respond to enquiries and directory correction requests;
- protect FoodAustralia, participating businesses and users from misuse; and
- meet applicable legal obligations.
6. Sharing and sale of information
We do not sell users’ personal information. Limited technical information may be processed by service providers that support website hosting, networking, security and app delivery. These providers process information to provide their services to us or as required by law.
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a lawful request, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or manage a business reorganisation.
7. External websites and device features
Company profiles may contain links to external websites, social networks, email addresses or telephone numbers. If you follow a link or use your device to send an email or make a call, the relevant website, platform, email provider or telecommunications provider handles that activity under its own privacy policy. FoodAustralia is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
8. Data retention and security
Technical records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for operation, security, diagnostics and legal requirements. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
FoodAustralia is a general business directory and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
10. Your choices and enquiries
You may contact us to ask about information associated with you, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity or authority before changing business directory information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Service, our practices or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with its effective date.
